Apple asked a US court for 15% on link-outs. That is a proposal, not your US rate.

What Apple filed

On 2026-08-13 Apple filed a court-ordered proposal in Epic v. Apple asking what it wants to charge when a US app links out of the App Store and the user pays on the web. That filing is not a Connect toggle and not a published US storefront rate. Treat 15% as Apple's ask.

What this is not

Do not rebuild US checkout this week because a headline said 15%. The EU 2026-10-01 fee table is Issue 0 — do not paste that worksheet onto US SKUs.

A court filing is a legal position, not a product launch. Until Apple publishes US storefront terms and you accept them in Connect, your current US IAP and link-out rules are whatever your contract and Connect say today.

What an indie can do this week

• If you only sell US IAP inside the App Store: ignore the 15% headline for now. Nothing in Connect changed because of the filing.
• If you run link-out checkout in the US: read the filing summaries, but do not reprice until Apple publishes and you accept new terms.
• If you sell in the EU: keep the Issue 0 1 Oct date on your calendar. US and EU fee paths are separate worksheets.
• Complete the September social-media questionnaire if Apple flagged your app — that is a compliance task, not a fee change.
